"Then Agrippa said to Paul, 'Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?' Paul replied, 'Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.'"
Acts 26:28-29
"'Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?' Simon replied, 'I suppose the one who had the bigger debt forgiven.' 'You have judged correctly,' Jesus said."
Luke 7:41-43

Paul’s response to King Agrippa is filled with grace. He didn’t want the King to suffer his chains, but he deeply desired for the King to know his freedom. Paul knew he couldn’t force a conversion; he could only offer the truth with kindness.

We are responsible for the message we share, but others are responsible for how they receive it.

Just as Paul intertwined his story with the Gospel, we can also share what God has done in our lives as we share about what God did through Jesus. All of us have weaknesses through which God manifests His strength in our lives.

Our willingness to be honest about our mistakes and failures often gives others the courage to stop denying their shortcomings. We do not know who is being touched by the Holy Spirit as people are listening to us.

God is looking for those who will be truthful with Him. He delights in listening to our confessions because it is then that God reveals His mercy. God forgives much and thus empowers those people to love much.
