The disciples knew Jesus personally. They experienced his peace and provision. They witnessed his suffering, crucifixion, and his physical body post-resurrection. They had as much proof as anyone could get, but what was the purpose? God wanted them to share what they experienced and witness to the rest of the world about him. The faith built within them through Christ’s life, death, and resurrection was to be shared so that others could put their faith in Jesus, his promises, and experience the same Peace and provision.
In John 14:6, Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. If Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, then that is the most important information for anybody to know. God’s heart is for all people to come to him and be saved. Let’s be a church that seeks him and finds him daily, and as we experience him, we can go out and witness to the world of all Christ has done in our lives.
