Jesus’ scars are proof of who He is. He’s not a ghost, but flesh and blood. He is restored, but there is still evidence of his crucifixion that He shows the disciples as further proof. God could have restored him completely by taking away his scars, but God chose to leave those scars for this moment.
The Lord does the same in our lives as He restores us through the blood of Christ. We find healing through the Word, through prayer, through people who walk through life with us, or sometimes through miracles. Though we are healed, there are still scars that remind us of past pain, trials, and God’s faithfulness. Sharing these scars and the Lord’s restoration is a testament to God’s power, provision, and goodness. These testimonies can help others put their faith in the restoration power Christ can provide.
